My neighbours must think I’m mad. This morning I power walked my way around the block, bursting into laughter, screwing up my face and talking to myself at any given moment. Headphones in, I was engrossed in the latest content-marketing podcast.

Podcasting has soared in popularity in the last five years. According to Edison Research, listening grew by 23% between 2015 and 2016 alone. Further, this growth is being driven by mobility. Two years ago listeners consumed most podcasts on their computers. Today they consume 64% on a smartphone or tablet.
